Does anyone know if it is easier to lose weight while being on birth control pills?

from what ive been told by docs about this issue is that any birth control that involves hormones will most likely increase weight. my personal experience has been inline with this theory. when i was on the pill i gained approx. 20lbs. and didnt lose it after stopping.

I actually lose weight on the pill. Check the boards and you will find other do too. Maybe it helps me with fluid retention, i'm not sure. Everyone is different so you will have to try to find out!

I didn't. In fact I've been following a healthy moderate carb diet for the last six months and had no carb cravings what so ever. I started the pill a few days ago after taking a year off and BAM! They're back, even though I'm still on the same diet. When I was on it before I gained a steady 10 lbs a year.

I definately gained when going on the pill, and after I went off, I didn't lose it either.

Hello, I asked my Dr. this exact question before starting the pill and low carb combined. He told me that if it was a high amount of estrogen in the pill that it could cause weight gain...so he put me on what he called the lowest amount of estrogen possible in a bcp...Mircette.
